Many people are now choosing to improve their smile later in life. Whether it be that they never had braces as a teenager, or that they did have braces, but their teeth have shifted back into an unwanted position. Whatever the reason, the number of adults looking for a solution to straighten their smile has been growing steadily over the past few years.

Thanks to this demand, as well as advancements in technology, there are now many options available to those who may want a more discreet alternative to the traditional metal braces, often referred to as “train-tracks”. It doesn’t matter if you’re in your teens or in your forties, there will be an option out there that is right for you.

Adults aren’t entitled to orthodontic treatment on the NHS. This means that if you’re over the age of 18, you will have to go a private clinic and self-fund your treatment, as adult braces are considered a cosmetic treatment.

Although braces are intended to improve the appearance of your smile, there are more than just aesthetic benefits to having straighter teeth. When teeth are overcrowded or at different angles, it can make it more difficult to clean them, meaning that food and plaque can get lodged in between them. In the short-term, this can lead to bad breath and plaque build-up, which then can lead to long-term problems like decay and gum disease.

As we age, our teeth have a tendency to shift further forward to crowd at the front of the mouth. This can make your smile look more narrow and appear smaller. If you aren’t happy with the way this looks, you don’t have to keep it this way. Adult braces can gently move your teeth into a more aligned position, and with the use of retainers, your teeth will remain in their new position indefinitely.

Reviews from MyClinique patients...

I had my consultation with Dr Buddha. He was by far the most professional compared to the other clinics I went to for consultations this week. His colleague Lisa was very friendly and helpful.

So I went to see myclinique this week for a Invisalign consultation and I was very impressed, I saw a lady called Lisa and a man called Mark, I told them what a great consultation it was because I was informed of lot's of options and were given lots of information about Invisalign that other clinics never told me before.
