Here are some of the pros and cons of dental crowns
First, you will attend your consultation with an experienced treatment coordinator who will assess the most suitable treatment for your specific needs.
Your tooth will be prepared for the crown by receiving shaping treatment to ensure it is the right size to fit. Then, an impression will be taken of the existing tooth and sent off to the laboratory. In the meantime, you will be fitted with a temporary crown.
You will return for a second appointment where the temporary crown will be removed and your customised permanent crown is fitted to your tooth.
The procedure is non-surgical, so you will not have any healing times to contend with after finishing your treatment. However, it is important to follow the aftercare advice given to you by the dentist to ensure your crown lasts for as long as possible.
